Abstract

Combined pallet and packing case in corrugated cardboard and for use with fork lift trucks is low in cost and can be stored flat and erected when needed. Extending completely over the bottom (4) of a standard packing case (1) are two separate and identical bases (2a, 2b), fixed using double sided adhesive tape (3) which is folded down and bent inwards (3a). Stapling is an alternative method. These bases act as stiffener supports and form an access for the fork truck tines. Each is made from a rectangular blank folded along parallel lines to give several thicknesses of material (6a to 6e) and forming a strong rectangular tube.
