Abstract
Prodn. of phosphoric acid with P2O5 concn. >35%, and Ca sulphate which is readily filtrable and washable, by the wet process by continuous reaction of Ca phosphate with H2SO4 in a series of >=2 reaction zones, in which the starting material is distributed between the different reaction zones, the total water for the process in the form of dil. acid resulting from washing solid product of last zone with water is introduced into the 1st zone, and strong filtered acid is recycled into each zone and strong tiltered acid is recycled into each zone such that the concn. of P2O5 in each zone is higher than in the preceeding zone and the amt. of solid material in each zone is less than in the preceeding zone. The process gives high yield of highly conc. H3PO4.
