Abstract

Device is intended for a bottling line, of the type used in breweries, in which the bottles are suitably treated by washing and rinsing and are then fed to the bottling point. The bottles are carried by a conveyor inside an air-tight tunnel in which UV radiation-generating tubes are installed in such a manner that the radiation can reach the whole of the inside surfaces of the bottles. An air-tight hood covers the sterilizing area, one of its walls being made of a hinged panel of reinforced glass which is opaque to U.V. radiation, this allowing for inspection of the conveyor without risk of exposure to the radiation. One of the walls forming the base of the tunnel is also mounted on hinges so that any broken bottles can be removed. The bottling area at the tunnel outlet is in a zone of sterile air under press.
