Abstract

Block copolymers of high impact strength contain 1-99% units of an aromatic polyamide or polyester (aromatic sulphone derivs. can also be used) and 99-1% of units of a thermoplastic condensation polymer. These block copolymers can be compounded with fillers to produce machine parts, apparatus housings, tubings, crash helmets, etc. They can also be used as adhesives for glass, metals and wood, or for the prodn. of fibres used as reinforcement for rubber belts or tyres. Prefd. condensation polymer is an aliphatic polyamide.
