Abstract

Structural assembly of a nuclear reactor with a core cooled by circulating liquid metal, and comprising a concrete pit contg. three vessels one inside the other, namely the inner or primary vessel contg. the reactor core, the intermediate or main vessel contg. the liquid metal and the outer or safety vessel providing security in case of failure of the main vessel, together with a roof closing off the pit and of greater dia. than the outer vessel, by successively introducing the vessels into, and supporting them on the single wall of the pit, then installing the roof closure, suspending the vessels therefrom and controlling the means of suspension so as to obtain from then on, a predetermined distribution of the forces to which the pit wall and roof are subjected by the vessels.
