Abstract

Cladding for a blast furnace operating at high pressure and which is progressively cooled. The fluid circulation has a high flow at the beginning of the campaign. The cladding consists of a number of box panels welded together vertically to form the hearth, bosh and stack, which are joined to a sole-plate and the guelard ferrule. The number of panels is equal to, or double, the number of tuyeres so that the cross-section of the blast furnace is a regular polygon.
