Abstract

More intensive heating of the slag bath and melting off of the self-consuming electrodes is achieved without increased reased power consumption by feeding a fuel O2 mixture into the slag bath, which also enables the charged and heated sectors to be extended. Pref. the mixture is fed in at such an angle as to ensure intensive mixing of the slag with the molten metal.
