Abstract

Pipes consisting of a plastic core tube, a reinforcing filament or tape winding bonded by a resin binder and an external plastic coatin to protect the pipe against abrasion and the effects of the external environment, are produced using a machine which is mounted on the stern deck of a ship moving at a speed equal to the rate of production of the pipe, so that a continuous pipe free from joints is formed, of any desired length.
