Abstract
The leading soln is kept at 25 degrees C during backing to prevent formation of Chevreul salt Cu (CuSO3)2.2H2O which otherwise precipitates amongst the gangue and is not recoverable economically. The ppte. does not form at low temp. Prefd. working temp. range is 10-15 degrees C, using a pH of 1.3-1.8.
