Abstract

A multi-zone light is formed from different coloured thermoplastics by successive injection. A base piece covering the whole light is first injected from the most transparent, pref. white, material, other special zones being subsequently injected from coloured materials. The non white portions are pref. separated by a clear central portion which esp. has non-planar junction surfaces with the colours. In a car rear light the rim may also be integrally moulded. The process gives subdivided multi-zone lights and avoids removal of inserts.
