Abstract

Syrup ('Massecuite') delivered from evapg. and cooking processes is passed over a horizontal vacuum filter band to obtain crystals for drying from the top of the band and a syrup filtrate for return to the cooking stage. Pref., the vacuum on the underside of the filter band is 100-150 Torrs and the band speed is 4-8 cms/sec.
