Abstract

A filter, esp. to remove solids from irrigation water, rests at the surface, buoyed by a float, and is pref. drum shaped, the side wall being of filtering material, e.g. stainless steel or nylon mesh. The filter is continually cleaned by a spray arm rotating inside the drum, to which is fed ready cleaned water, recycled from the delivery side of the pump used to draw input. The filter does not require maintenance cleaning, and may be used continuously; an external mirror indicator may be used to confirm operation of the spray arm, which is rotated by force of water.
