Abstract
Aq. cupro-ammonium solns. contg. both cuprovs and cupries ions, are contacted with ion exchange resin selective for cupric ions. Remaining soln. is heated at 175-500 degrees F in absences of O2 to ppte. cuprous oxide. Soln. is esp., copper ammonium carbonate from leaching copper ores, scrap etc. PRef. resin is a polyacrylic carboxylated weak cation exchange resin in ammonium form.
