Abstract

It is produced by thermolysis of a soot producing raw material (e.g., oil in a suitable reaction furnace; combustion of a combustible gas involving oxidation by means of combustible air providing the necessary heat energy. The oil is introduced into the combustible gases by means of an injector and a much better mixing is achieved. As a result of a much better heat transfer, no preliminary mixing is required and, in fact, with set amounts of the combustible gas and the oxidising air, more oil can be initially charged with a resulting increase in product output.
