Abstract

A hemming device for flexible sheet material comprises a duct with an opening in the plane in which the material is being fed an inturned passageway in the duct to fold the material parallel with the diection in which it is being fed and an air jet to deflect the material into the passageway and make it conform to the inturned contour of the passageway. The device may be positioned adjacent to the bed of a sewing machine so that the hem is fed to the sewing machine head.
