Abstract

An integral/unitary body containing AIN used, the density of the body being more than 80% of the theoretical value for AIN. The thermal conductivity at room temp. is more than 0.5 W. cm-1 degree K-1 and the resistivity is higher than 1010 ohm-cm. Fired pressings of particles of essentially monophasic AIN are used with a purity of >=95%.
