Abstract

Plastic (glass fibre reinforced polyester) septic traps of various sizes (1000 - 1500 litres) are made by joining similar top and base mouldings with waist bands of a depth dependent on the tank capacity required. The base has a double curvature profile, with the central region being concave or convex. The top may be identical but pref. is concave and interrupted for a man-hole cover. The tank is divided into two compartments by a partition wall or a partial chimney. Lighter than masonry or concrete tanks. Use of curved base encourages local stones to slip sideways and relieve the pressure.
