Abstract

Heat adhesive lace made by incorporating occasional threads of relatively low softening point thermoplastic material to secure the lace onto supporting fabrics, esp. for decorative lace for ladies garments, table linen, etc. Esp. using threads of polyamide 11 as low melting point strands in lace made from natural fibres or polyamide 66 or polyester filaments. Quicker than stitching, does not require precise shaping and fitting of the lace, does not cause stiffening of the rest of the lace structure which may contact the hot tool.
