Abstract

The filaments having an inherent viscosity of >=0.4 are prepd. by reacting in a polar org. solvent compds. giving structural units in copolymer of -NH-Ar1-NH-CO-R-CO- and (where R is divalent aromatic, aliphatic or aryl-aliphatic radical, Ar1 is a divalent aromatic radical and Ar2 is a trivalent aromatic radical contg. >=6C-atoms. These filaments have tenacity of 30 g/tex, low water uptake, good dimensional stability and good acid resistance. They can be used to make protective clothing for workers, chemists etc. and are suitable in areas where successive sterilisations are carried out.
