Abstract

Beta-psi Tetramethyl alpha-omega dinitriles are prepared by the reaction of azo-bis-isobutyronitrile with butadiene pref. in the presence of a solvent (esp. high m.wt. paraffins, toluene and benzene) at temp. of 60-150 degrees C and pressure of 100-300 kg/cm. They are used for the preparation of the corresponding sat. and unsat. diamines, diacids and diols.
