Claims (8)

1. Magnesiumbehandlingsförfarande för att ernä en behandlad smälta med mindre än 100 g/t ej metalliska inne- 5 slutningar, kännetecknat därav, att behand-lingsreaktionen med magnesium vilken sker minst 200 mm under smältans yta, styres sälunda att den förängade mag-nesiummängden utvecklar en blandningsenergi pä minst 1000 W/m3, och pä ytan ovanför behandlingskärlet bildas en 10 ej oxiderande atmosfär.
2. Förfarande enligt patentkrav 1, känne- t e c k n a t därav, att som behandligsämne användes ren magnesium i bitform.
3. Förfarande enligt patentkrav 1, känne- 15 tecknat därav, att som behandligsämne användes mag-nesiumgranuler.
4. Förfarande enligt patentkrav 1, känne-tecknat därav, att som behandligsämne användes en blandning av ren magnesium i granulform och ett reaktions- 20 inert ämne, exempelvis järnspän etc. innehällande minst 40 vikt-% magnesium.
5. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-4, kännetecknat därav, att magnesiumutbytet är högst 75 %. 25
6. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-5, kännetecknat därav, att utgängsmältans svavel-halt är 0,001 - 0,30 vikt-%.
7. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-6, kännetecknat därav, att behandlingstemperatu- 30 ren är 1400 - 1530 K.
8. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-7, kännetecknat därav, att behandlingsslaggens basicitet är över 1.
