Laitteisto tilannetietoisuutta koskevien tietojen toimittamiseksi alukselle (110), jolloin laitteisto käsittää LIDARin (120), prosessorin (210), muistin (220), niin että muisti (220) käsittää komentosarjan, joka prosessorilla (210) suoritettuna saa laitteiston vastaanottamaan LIDARista (120) jäämuodostuman (130) ilmaisevia anturisignaaleja ja määrittämään anturisignaalien perusteella jääuoman (132) sijainnin, jolloin jääuoma (132) on osa jäämuodostumaa (130). Tämän lisäksi alus (110), menetelmä ja tietokoneohjelmatuote, joka käsittää edellä kuvatun toiminnallisuuden.
