Abstract

A method is disclosed for recovering gold from a gold-containing organic solution containing soluble gold. The method comprises exposing the gold-containing organic solution to conditions that cause the organic solution to decompose, wherein gold contained in the organic solution is reduced to form solid metallic gold.
