Abstract

The invention relates to an arrangement for preventing freezing of the air intake in an air conditioning system. In the arrangement according to the invention, outdoor air is sucked into an air conditioning duct system via an air intake grille (10) installed to the exterior wall of a building, ship or equivalent structure, the air intake grille being provided with heatable lamellae (14), slats or equivalent surfaces to melt snow and ice that has been formed and to convey the melt water out before it reaches the air conditioning duct system. The heatable lamellae (14), slats or equivalent surfaces are provided with an electric heating film that covers a desired area of the surface to be heated.
