Abstract

The invention concerns a method and portable measuring device for protecting the measurement of a plurality of variables, the portable measuring device comprising at least a housing (100), a printed circuit board (108), at least one pulse coil (106) within the housing (100) for detecting heartbeats, the at least one pulse coil (106) being connected to the printed circuit board (108), a plurality of components within the housing (100), of which at least some causing electromagnetic interference to the at least one pulse coil (106), the plurality of components comprising at least a GPS module (114), a power source and a DC-DC converter, the plurality of components being connected to the printed circuit board (108). A Faraday cage within the housing of the portable measuring device is used to separate at least some of a plurality of components of the portable measuring device from the at least one pulse coil.
