Abstract
Esillä oleva keksintö koskee menetelmää ja laitetta pyörivässä rumpu-uunissa käsitellyn materiaalin, kuten kalkin, jäähdyttämiseksi uuniin liittyvässä jäähdyttimessä. Jäähdytin käsittää ainakin yhden kammion, jonka syöttöpäätyyn kuumaa, uunissa käsiteltyä materiaalia putoaa uunista uunia ja ko. kammiota yhdistävän kanavan/ kanavien kautta muodostaen ko. kammion alaosaan materiaalipatjan, ja materiaali virtaa edelleen vastavirtaan jäähdyttävään kaasuvirtaan nähden kammion läpi poistuen kammion poistopäästä. Jäähdytettävää materiaalia kierrätetään kammion syöttöpäässä ja materiaalia palautetaan sinne siten, että syöttöpäähän muodostuu kierrätettävästä ja palautettavasta materiaalista kerros kanavan/kanavien kohdalle, joiden kautta uunista putoaa tuoretta kuumaa materiaalia, joka muodostaa jatkuvasti uutta patjaa kammioon mainitun kerroksen päälle. (Fig. 5)The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for cooling material, such as lime, processed in a rotary kiln in a cooler associated with the kiln. The cooler comprises at least one chamber, into the feed end of which hot material processed in the kiln falls from the kiln through a channel/channels connecting the kiln and said chamber, forming a bed of material in the lower part of said chamber, and the material continues to flow countercurrently to the cooling gas flow through the chamber, leaving the chamber at the discharge end of the chamber. The material to be cooled is circulated at the feed end of the chamber and the material is returned there so that a layer of the recycled and returned material is formed in the feed end at the channel/channels, through which fresh hot material falls from the kiln, continuously forming a new bed in the chamber on top of said layer.
