Abstract

The towel dispenser has a separation device (29) for the hygienic separation of the clean space (14) for the fresh web (9) of towel from the soiled space (25) for the used web of towel. Said separation device contains a flexible bag (30) which descends from an upper starting position taking the stored clean web of towel into its shape and which, at the end, receives the rear end of the web of towel, which is retracted by a retraction device (36), in such a way that said rear end of the web is separated from the clean space (14), but lies in the clean space (14) in a space-saving manner. The retraction device (36) has a battery-driven electric motor which is controlled by rubbing contacts (57). The retraction device (36) has a conveying drum (35) and a back pressure drum (37) which are automatically disengaged when the housing door (4) is opened.
