Abstract
The materials are made by mixing a hydraulic cement e.g. Portland, aluminium, pozzolanic, Ca silicate cement or mixts., with water and polyacrylonitrile fibres and dispersions contg. less than 98 mol % polyacrylonitrile units. The water is partially removed by filtration and vacuum suction, the mixt. made into the required shape and set to a suitable consistency for 3-28 days at 50-95% RH and 10-88 deg.C. They are suitable for making pipes, flat and corrugated sheets, tiles and roof ridges.
