Abstract

Chocolate coating material from a vessel 10 is fed by a pump 12 via lines 13 to distributor flanges 14, 15 and thence via a larger number of fed lines 16 to closed distributors 17 arranged above and below a horizontal lattice conveyor 8 carrying articles 2 to be coated. Each distributor 17 has an adjustable slit-like opening through which the coating material emerges, those above the conveyor producing a curtain 24 of coating material which forms the top and side coating and that below the conveyor forming the bottom coating. Regulators 18 maybe present in the feed lines 16 to equalise the flow in the different lines. A heater may be used in the distributor or feed lines.
