Abstract

1. Cylinder ironing arrangement with at least two heated troughs, in each of which a cylinder is inserted, with at least one bridge located between two troughs and guiding the pieces of laundry across, with an endless cloth, which extends essentially over the entire width of the cylinders, the troughs and the bridge (s) and which is wound in an endless manner around the cylinders and over the bridge (s) and guides the pieces of laundry from trough to trough over the intermediate bridge and with a straight-running device, which ensures a permanent position of the lateral edges of the endless cloth, characterised in that the straight-running device comprises : a) at least one photo-electric cell arranged on a side edge of the cloth (7), b) an oscillating bar controlled by the photoelectric cell, which in turn comprises c) a roller (9), whereof the axis is arranged at right angles to the direction of movement of the cloth (7) and against which the cloth (7) rests, d) a device (10), which tilts the axis of the roller (9) with respect to the horizontal in a plane which extends at right angles to the direction of movement of the cloth (7).
