Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing nuclear fuel pellets which consist of a core piece and of a ring which surrounds this core piece, the two parts having a different composition. They are designated as annular-coated fuel pellets. The method provides the following steps: pulverised ceramic material, which has been granulated, is pressed separately to form core pieces and outer rings, and the two parts are joined together, pressed and sintered. During the sintering, the parts are connected to one another. The parts can differ from one another in terms of their density, the isotope enrichment, and in terms of their chemical composition.
