SE CARGAN UNOS INTERCAMBIADORES DE IONES CON IONES NUTRIENTES DE PLANTAS Y CON UNA SUBSTANCIA FORMADORA DE GEL, TAL COMO UN PREPOLIMERO DE POLIISOCIANATO, UN AGENTE DE RETICULACION, TAL COMO EL AGUA, HACIENDOSE REACCIONAR MEDIANTE INTENSA MEZCLA A UN HIDROGEL COVALENTEMENTE RETICULADO Y, DE ESTA MANERA, LOS INTERCAMBIADORES DE IONES SE ENCAMAN EN EL HIDROGEL COVALENTEMENTE RETICULADO FORMANDO IN SITU DE LA SUBSTANCIA FORMADORA DE GEL, AGENTE DE RETICULACION Y AGUA. EN EL HIDROGEL SE INCORPORA COMO MINIMO UN 5% EN PESO DE UNA SUBSTANCIA MACROMOLECULAR.
