Abstract

Prodn. of 2-amino-benzoic acid derivs. of formula (I) comprises reaction of cpd. HO-CH2-CH2-(O-CH2-CH2)n-N(CH2)m (II) with isatoic anhydride in aromatic solvent under reflux. To increase efficiency, the sepd. prod. is reacted with (II) in aq. medium acidified by inorganic acid under reflux. (I) (where R is Cl or trifluoromethyl, n is 0 or 1 and m is 4-6), is sepd. after neutralisation with e.g. alkaline earth carbonate, and is useful as an analgesic and antiinflammatory.
