Abstract

The vehicle has a main pump (1), which is driven by an electric motor (5), and a hydrostatic steering system (11) which can be actuated by a hydraulic fluid which comes from a secondary hydraulic circuit via a distributor which is closed in the centre position. According to the invention, the secondary hydraulic circuit is fed with hydraulic fluid by a secondary pump (6), which is driven by the electric motor (5) of the main hydraulic circuit, and contains an electrically actuated hydrostatic valve (8) which is arranged upstream of the distributor (10), which is closed in the centre position, and operates between a first position in which it conveys hydraulic fluid to the distributor and a second position in which it removes hydraulic fluid from a container (14). Said secondary pump has a non-return valve (12) which is arranged downstream of the valve (8) and at least one hydraulic accumulator (13) which is inserted between the non-return valve (8) and the distributor (10), control devices (15) which are controlled by the pressure inside the accumulator being provided in order to start up the electric motor and to move the valve (8) into its first position when the pressure inside the accumulator (10) is below or equal to the minimum pressure and in order to move the valve (8) into its second position when the pressure inside the accumulator reaches the maximum pressure.
