Abstract
The invention describes a heat-treatment apparatus for granular material, having a plurality of passage elements which are in the form of an upturned V in cross-section and which are arranged in a container for the granular material, the passage elements being arranged horizontally or at a slight inclination and in parallel in a multiplicity of vertical rows and a multiplicity of horizontal rows. The passage elements of the even-numbered horizontal rows are arranged offset between the passage elements of the odd-number horizontal rows, and some of the passage elements work as air-supply passage elements and the remainder as air-outlet passage elements. The passage elements of each vertical row comprise both air-supply passage elements and air-outlet passage elements which are arranged alternately. The passage elements of each horizontal row can all be air-supply passage elements or air-outlet passage elements which are arranged alternately.
