Abstract

Improved bearing assembly (22) for supporting a split drive shaft (20, 21) of a vehicle (10). An inner rotatable race (42) of a bearing (40) engages the drive shaft and an outer, non-rotatable race (43) of the bearing is mounted in a resilient rubber block (49). The rubber block, which is connected through a bracket (23) to the vehicle frame (25), permits limited radial and axial movement of the bearing (40) to prevent the drive shaft from pulling the bearing from the rubber block (49).
