Abstract

A plurality of water pumping modules (2) disposed at the sea bed serve to raise sea water to tanks from which the water flows to a turbine (6). Each module (2) has a buoy (8) secured to a rod (11) which is guided by rollers (12) and moves longitudinally within a sleeve (10) secured to a pile (1) embedded in the sea bed. The lower part of the rod (11) carries a piston (13) to which is coupled a flexible joint (14) in engagement with the interior of the sleeve (10). A pipe (3) connects the lower end of the sleeve (10) to the tanks and has at least one water check outlet valve (17) and a T-joint (15) with a water inlet valve (16).
