Abstract

The engine of the moped is mounted in a pendant manner from an elastic support (22) and is slung between two side frames (18) whose lower end is linked to the moped frame by a second elastic support (19, 20). The drive belt (15) to the gearing is held in a stretched setting by the weight of the motor, while motor vibrations are isolated from the frame. The drive belt is attached to the engine near its centre of meass for an effective torque transfer without causing vibrations. The upper elastic bearing (22) comprises concentric metal rings with rubber damping bonded between them.
