Abstract
Procedure for preparing piperidine-hindered carboxylic acids, of general formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein the Radicals R1 are the same and represent hydrogen or C1-C6-alkyl, is hydrogen, C1-C12-alkyl, C3-C4-alkenyl, propargyl, benzyl, alkyl-substituted benzyl, aliphatic acyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, C2-C21 alkoxyalkyl or oxyl, R is straight chain alkenylene of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, 1,2-cycloalkylene or 1,2-cycloalkenylene with 4 to 6 carbon atoms, 2,3-bicycloalkylene or 2,3-bicycloalkenylene with 7 or 8 carbon atoms or 1,2-, 1,3- or 1,4-phenylene or straight chain alkylene with 1 to 4 carbon atoms substituted by alkyl or alkenyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, provided that said alkyl-substituted straight chain alkylene has in total more than 10 carbon atoms, M is hydrogen or a metal selected from the group consisting of barium, nickel, manganese, calcium, copper, zinc, magnesium, sodium, potassium, cobalt, tin and dialkyltin, z has a value of 1 to 4, the value of z being equal to the available valence of M; and its metallic salts; characterized by reacting a piperidinol of the formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein R1 and R2 are defined as above, with an acid anhydride of the formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein R4 is defined as above, or with a diacid of the formula: R3- (COOH) 2 IV (Machine-translation by Google Translate, not legally binding)
