Abstract
A procedure for preparing acyl-xylidide compounds of the structural formula ** (See formula) ** in optically active or racemic form, in which formula R1 is ethyl, propyl or butyl; R2 and R3 are each selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, propyl, and butyl; R2 together with R3 is tetramethylene; the total sum of carbon atoms in R1, R2 and R3 is at least six; and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts; characterized in that a compound of the formula is reacted ** (See formula) ** wherein R1 and Y have the meaning set forth above, with a compound of the formula H2 - N - R2 wherein R2 has the meaning set forth above, for the formation of a compound of formula ** (See formula) ** after which this compound is reacted with an alcoholizing agent to form a compound of formula I, and the compound of formula I thus formed is reacted, if desired, with a pharmaceutically acceptable acid.
