Abstract

Improvements made to mechanical rotary mowers comprising a rotor mounted for rotation about an axis extending upwards, and a blade having a section for harvesting and a mounting section projecting from said section of cutting, the rotor defining an opening in the area of its periphery through which the blade can be mounted on the rotor, the cutting section of the respective harvest extending over an upward-facing surface of the rotor and projecting the respective mounting section towards down into the opening, the arrangement being such that, during the use of the mechanical mower, the centrifugal force tends to keep the section intended for cutting the blade harvest against the upward-facing surface of the rotor, characterized by the fact that the dimensions of the opening (50) defined by the rotor (52) are such that the section intended for cutting the harvest (40) of the blade (38) is free to perform a sensitive upward movement when the impact with the stones occurs during use, and due to the fact that the rotor comprises a blade retention member (56, 62) that during use it is placed underneath said section intended to cut the respective harvest and is adapted to cooperate with the corresponding mounting section (42) in order to prevent the detachment of the blade during the use of the mechanical mower while said sensitive is allowed upward movement.
