Abstract
Ejection device for double acting forging presses, comprises a main frame, a reciprocating slide mounted in the frame, a crankshaft with a connecting rod for reciprocating the slide relative to at least one stationary die and a punch holder with at least two punches, which is mounted on the slide so that it can be swivelled between two working positions. The holder comprises at least one spring-loaded peg fitted in a longitudinal hole in the slide, where it is kept in a retracted position from which it is periodically moved during the commencement of the backward movement of the slide w.r.t. the die by a protrusion fitted to the connection rod exercising a counter pressure. There is also a further pin, one for each die, which is free to move in a longitudinal hole in the relevant punch and holder. Following the swivel motion of the die holder into the relevant working position, this is brought into axial alignment and contact with the pin in the slide. This ensures that the workpiece does not stay in the die on retraction.
