Air filter combined with a suction silencer, characterized by that it includes; a closed tubular body in which a transverse partition separates two end compartments from which the first one encloses an annular filter cartridge arranged between said partition and the corresponding end wall of the body, perforated by an air inlet opening leading to the interior of said cartridge, and of which the second constitutes a resonator, the neck of which is formed by a tube that passes through said partition and opens into the interior of said cartridge substantially in front of said air intake hole.
