Abstract

A dispensing valve of the type described in Specification 59311/68 has two dispensing positions: one in which the fluid is dispersed from only one container the other in which a mixture of fluids is dispersed from both containers. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 (not shown) a spool 14 can be moved against the action of spring 11 to a first dispensing position in which the passage 16 is uncovered. Fluid in container 2 is forced up dip tube 17 into main bore 7 and then via side passage 13 into a tubular portion of stem 5, where it is subsequently discharged through nozzle 20. When the spool is fully depressed in a second dispensing position it is below the upper part of groove 18 in the extensive bore 15, thus liquid in collapsible bag 22 can be forced up to main bore 7 where it is mixed with the other liquids and subsequently dispensed. Other embodiments are described: in which the groove 18 is diametrically opposite to the opening of the passage 16 Fig. 2 (not shown) and in which the spool 14 covers the passage 16 Fig. 3 in the first dispensing position.
