Abstract

Artículo de equipamiento para natación consistente en un gorro para proteger el cabello durante la práctica de la natación recreativa u otros deportes acuáticos. El gorro comprende una cavidad tripartita para alojar el cabello cuya porción cóncava inferior se yuxtapone al nivel de las orejas a sus porciones convexas media y superior, creando un espacio interno no constrictivo y estable. El gorro comprende además una unidad interna de posicíonamiento-bloqueo consistente en: 1 ) una banda anular que unida al canto del gorro por tan sólo uno de sus bordes, sujeta mesuradamente el gorro a la cabeza del usuario; y 2) una tira de prevención de filtraciones que colocada en voladizo sobre la banda anular a la altura de la nuca, rellena las irregularidades de la cabeza en esa zona para detener y absorber posibles fugas por la misma. The cap comprises a tripartite cavity for housing the hair, the lower concave portion of which is juxtaposed at the level of the ears to its upper and middle convex portions, creating a non-constrictive and stable internal space. The cap also comprises an internal positioning-locking unit consisting of: 1) an annular band which, attached to the edge of the cap by only one of its edges, holds the cap proportionally to the user's head; and 2) a leak prevention strip which, placed in a cantilevered position over the annular band at the height of the nape of the neck, fills the irregularities of the head in that area to stop and absorb possible leaks therefrom. Three embodiments of the cap are described and illustrated graphically.

Modalidad “A”Modality “A”

Claims

1. A swimming cap that allows the use of various waterproof techniques and materials for its manufacture, including:

a. a main body comprising:

- an upper portion (11) consisting of a spherical cap for receiving long hair gathered in a compact manner or the upper part of voluminous hairstyles;

characterized in that the main body comprises:

- a middle portion (12) consisting of a spherical area composed of twelve pieces (13) to receive most of the hair; and

- a lower portion (14) consisting of a concave surface of revolution, the lower part of which, when the cap is put on, comes into contact with the user's head below the hairline and is separated from it above said line, and where the hair adjacent to the face, temples and nape of the neck is housed;

and the swimming cap includes:

b. an internal position locking unit comprising:

- an annular band (16), of elastic material, attached to one edge of the lower portion (14) of the main body only by one of its edges; and

- a leak-blocking strip (17), pleated and made of absorbent material, which is fixed at one end to the inner surface of the annular band (16) while at the other end it protrudes above the loose edge of said band (16), and which, by filling the spaces that may form between the inner face of the cap and the head due to the irregularities in the shape of the latter at the nape of the neck, stops and absorbs possible leaks in said area.

2. The swimming cap according to claim 1, wherein:

- the lower portion (14) is partially covered by a gathering (15) which gives the portion its concave shape and frames the opening of the cap; and the lower (14), middle (12) and upper (11) portions are made of waterproof materials such as polyethylene-vinyl acetate or silnylon.

3. The swimming cap according to claim 1, wherein:

- the lower portion (14) is composed of twelve pieces (19) joined together alternately in a straight and reverse direction, so that the bases of six of them form the edge of the opening of the cap; and the lower (14), middle (12) and upper (11) portions are manufactured using materials that are waterproof and elastic, such as waterproof and elastic lycra or waterproof spandex.

4. The swimming cap according to claim 1, wherein:

- the main body is molded in a single piece (20) that maintains the ribs of the joints of the three portions (11, 12 and 14) as well as the ribs of the joints of the different parts (13, 19) constituting said portions;

- the annular band (21) is an extension of the single piece of the main body, folded inwards from the edge of the cap opening and loose in its innermost part;

- the leak-blocking strip (17) is removable and is fastened on the inner face of the annular band (21) by means of loops (22) whose ends are respectively attached to the inner face and to the free edge of said band (21); and the impermeable materials used to manufacture the cap include custom-molded rubber or polymer compounds, such as silicones.
