Abstract

A fan used in a classifier forming part of an attrition mill system (see Division B2) comprises a dual centrifugal fan wheel with blades 78, and blades 65 mounted on a back plate 66 of the fan wheel and driven from a common shaft 68 by a motor (not shown). Pulverized material is drawn by the fan through coaxial ducts including a funnel 60 which permits of classification of the material, which is then delivered along ducts 56, 54. The inlet 62 to the fan wheel forms a hub which is mounted by radial spokes 67 on the shaft 68 and carries the fan blades 78.
