Abstract

DESCRIPTION

Extralble console for interior of a car vehicle

The present invention concerns an extralble console for the interior of a vehicle, such as a motor vehicle.

A console of this type is usually centrally arranged between two seats of a motor vehicle and may comprise one or more storage compartments and serve as armrests.

Document FR 2 815 307 discloses a central console for a motor vehicle and that is provided with a handle that can be maneuvered to de-consolidate the console of a carriage sliding floor of the vehicle.

However, the mechanism that allows the console of the vehicle floor slide to be de-ground under the action of the operating handle is of an extremely complex structure that requires a large number of organs. In addition, this mechanism is housed in the console, thus reducing! considerably the volume of the console storage compartment (s).

Document US 6 736 438 also discloses a central console that can be detachably fixed by locking means to a socket integral to the floor of the vehicle between two seats thereof.

These locking means comprise legs that extend from the underside of the console and that can be inserted respectively into grooves formed in the socket.

However, in this previous document no precision is given on the manner in which the console can be unlocked from the support socket and, in any case, such locking means are not adapted to ensure a good resistance of the console during a frontal crash applied to the vehicle.

Document US5338081 describes a console for the interior of a vehicle, detachably fixed by means of blocking means to a socket 12 intended to be joined to the floor of the vehicle. Locking means, integral with a console base, comprise a first locking hook located at the end of the base and suitable for insertion into a complementary receiving socket of the socket and a lever with a second locking hook mounted pivotally on the base at its opposite end to allow the lever to occupy a locking position of the second hook in another complementary receiving cavity of the socket or a releasing position of the second hook of the other receiving cavity, position in which the console can be removed of the socket by pivoting and translation of the console with respect to the socket to release the second hook from its socket for receiving the socket. The console has the disadvantage of having means of locking in projection under its base, which is not ergonomic to manipulate and store it.

The present invention aims to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art.

For this purpose, the vehicle is defined according to claim 1.

Preferably, the socket comprises one or more accessible storage compartments when the console is removed from the socket.

Advantageously, the lever is pivotally grooved about an axis transverse to the longitudinal direction of the base and is requested to its locked position of the second hook by at least one elastic organ, such as a spring.

The base is added to the console or is made in one piece with the console.

Advantageously, the first locking hook is integrated in the base.

Advantageously, the console comprises one or more storage compartments.

The console can be centrally arranged between two vehicle seats and also constitutes an armrest.

Preferably, the console, the socket and the lever are made of a plastic material.

The invention is also intended for a vehicle, such as a motor vehicle, which is characterized in that it comprises at least one console in its room as defined above and is centrally located between two front or rear seats of the vehicle and the vehicle. Referring to the figures, reference 1 designates a generally approximately parallel-shaped console that may be located in the interior of a vehicle, especially between two front or rear seats of the vehicle extending according to the longitudinal direction of this vehicle, in which case the console It is called central. Such a console can also constitute an armrest.

The console 1 comprises in its upper part several storage compartments 2 of various articles and is detachably fixed by blocking means to a support socket 3 fixed by any appropriate means, such as for example fixing screws, to the floor of the vehicle .

In accordance with the invention, the locking means of the console 1 to the socket 3 firstly comprise a first locking hook 4 integrated in a base 5 integral with the lower face of the console 1.

Preferably, the first hook 4 is located in the rear terminal part of the base 5 of the console 1 considering this last joint of the socket 3 arranged between two front or rear seats of the vehicle.

The first locking hook 4 cooperates with a complementary reception cavity 6 made in the socket 3 that ends externally in front of an upper face 3a of the socket 3 to allow the locking of the rear terminal part of the console 1 to the socket 3. The face 3rd of the socket 3 is formed on an ascending ramp towards the front of this socket.

The first locking hook 4 has a terminal part in the form of a rectilinear finger so that once the first hook 4 is inserted in the blocking cavity 6, the rectilinear part is substantially parallel to a wall 7 of the socket 1 below it and extending towards the back of this socket. Thus, the first hook 4, when it occupies its blocking position in its corresponding cavity 6 of the socket 3, cannot be removed from the socket when a vertical effort directed upwards is considered on the console 1 considering Figure 2.

The locking means of the console 1 to the socket 3 further comprise a lever 8 of which one of the arms comprises a second locking hook 9 and the other arm comprises a maneuvering handle 10. The lever 8 is pivotally mounted on the base. 5 on the front of the latter so that the maneuvering handle 10 is externally accessible at the level of the front face of the console 1.

The lever 8 is pivotally mounted on the base 5 according to an axis 11 that extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the console 1 and, consequently, transversely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle when the console 1 is in solidarity with the socket 3.

For example, the pivot shaft 11 could be integral with the lever 8 having its two ends mounted to rotation respectively in two base bearing bearings 5, not shown.

The second hook 9 which is curved upwards especially considering Figure 2 protrudes below the base 5 and can be inserted into a complementary receiving cavity 12 of the socket 3 to ensure the blocking of the front part of the console 1 to this socket.

The lever 8 can pivot between a position in which the second hook 9 is in blocking cooperation in the cavity 12 of the socket 3 and a release position of the second hook 9 of the cavity 12. The lever 8 is requested to its position of coupling of the second hook 9 in the locking cavity 12 by at least one elastic organ, such as a spring, not shown. In the case of a solicitation spring, it could be interposed between the base 5 and the maneuvering handle 10 so that it exerts on the lever 8 a pivoting effort in the opposite direction of the hands of a clock in relation to the figure 2. In a variant, two torsion-working springs can be mounted on the two extremities of the pivot shaft 11, each having one of its ends integral with the base 5 and its opposite end integral with the axis 11.

The maneuvering handle 10 is shaped so that in the locked position of the second hook 9 in the cavity 12, it is made with the front face 1a of the console 1.

The upper front part of the base 5 comprises a cavity 5a in which the handle 10 can penetrate when it is maneuvered in the direction of release of the second hook 9 of the cavity 12 of the socket 3, that is to say in the direction of the needles of a clock in relation to figure 2.

The cavity 12 ends externally in front of an upper face 3b of the front part of the socket 3 and which is formed in the form of an ascending ramp towards the front part of this socket.

As shown, the base 5 is added to the console 1, but it can be made in one piece with this console.

In addition, the lever 8 with its hook 9 and its operating handle 10 are made in one piece.

Preferably, the console 1 and its base 5 provided with the first hook 4, the socket 3 and the lever 8 are made by molding a plastic material.

The socket 3 advantageously comprises several storage compartments 13 that are accessible when the console 1 is removed from this socket. Two of the compartments 13 may be constituted by the spaces located above the upper faces in ramp 3a, 3b in the vicinity of the locking cavities 6 and 12 of the socket 3.

Where appropriate, the base 5 may comprise protruding parts 14 in a manner complementary to certain storage compartments 13 of the socket 3 so that they are inserted into these compartments when the console 1 is locked to the socket 3.

As is best apparent from Figure 1, the console 1 may comprise a cover 15 pivotally mounted on the rear of the console and which is locked to its front by means of locking means manually unlockable by a maneuvering grip 16, being itself known these different media and will not be detailed. The closing cover 15 of the console 1 can comprise one or more storage compartments 2 and when unlocked in its straightened opening position, it allows access to an internal housing compartment of the console 1.

The withdrawal of the console 1 from the socket 3 will now be described in Figures 3A to 3D.

From the locking position of the console 1 to the socket 3 shown in Figure 3A, an operator acts on the maneuvering handle 10 by introducing it into the cavity 5a of the base 5 so as to swing the lever 8 in the direction of the needles of a watch as indicated by the arrow F1 in Figure 3B to cause the release of the second hook 9 from its locking cavity 12 of the socket 3.

Then, as shown in Figure 3C, the operator makes a pivoting movement on the console 1 with respect to the socket 3 around the rear hook 4 in the cavity 6 in the direction of the needles of a clock as symbolized by the arrow F2.

Then, as shown in Figure 3D, the operator exerts on the console 1 a traction or translation effort symbolized by the arrow F3 to disengage the first hook 4 of its cavity 6 with sliding of the first hook 4 on at least a portion of ramp of the face 3a located just at the exit of the cavity 6. Under these conditions, the console 1 can be completely removed from the socket 3 as shown in Figure 4 to allow access to the storage compartments 13 thereof.

The new placement of the console 1 on the socket 3 is carried out in the opposite direction of the operations described in Figures 3A to 3D, that is to say that the operator moves the rear part of the console 1 towards the rear of the socket 3 by applying the first hook 4 on the ramp face 3a until the first hook 4 is inserted into the locking cavity (6). Next, the operator swings the console 1 around the first hook 4 in its cavity 6 in the opposite direction to that of the arrow F2 to carry the second hook 9 above the cavity 12 and in support on the upper edge of the socket 3 which delimits this cavity so that it pushes the lever 8 against the force of solicitation of the elastic organ which then acts on this lever to elastically hook the second hook 9 into the locking cavity 12 of the socket 3.

Therefore, the new placement of the console 1 to the socket 3 is carried out automatically and does not need action on the lever 8.

The means that allow to block the console 1 to the support socket 3 are of an extremely simple structure and contribute to reduce the mass of the console with respect to the consoles known until now. In addition, these locking means ensure excellent resistance of the console to the socket in the event of a frontal crash applied to the vehicle when the console and socket assembly is centrally arranged between two seats.
