Abstract

Method for modeling the blood glucose level by genetic programming. The invention consists of a method that, by applying evolutionary algorithms on random solutions and data taken from a patient with glycemia, makes it possible to establish a modeling of the glycemia level to obtain a modeling of the glucose level at future moments to the moments of obtaining the data. of the patient. The patient data is at least glucose levels, intake, and fast and slow insulin for a time interval. The evolutionary algorithm basically consists of applying genetic programming in its variant of evolutionary grammars or grammatical evolution. That is, applying custom BNF-format grammars, custom mapping processes, and concrete error evaluations to random solutions or pre-generated models to derive an expression that describes and predicts a patient's glucose levels. Out of all the patients, the method of the present invention is especially indicated for subjects with Diabetes Mellitus.
