Description
Composición herbicida sinérgica que contiene penoxsulam y flazasulfuron
La protección de los cultivos contra las malezas y otra vegetación que inhibe el crecimiento del cultivo es un problema que recurre constantemente en la agricultura. Para ayudar a combatir este problema, los investigadores en el campo de la química sintética han elaborado una amplia variedad de productos y formulaciones químicos que son 5 eficaces en el control de este crecimiento no deseado. En la bibliografía se han descrito herbicidas químicos de diversos tipos, y una gran cantidad de ellos son de uso comercial.
En algunos casos, los principios activos herbicidas han demostrado ser más eficaces en combinación que aplicados individualmente, y esto se denomina “sinergia”. Tal como se describe en el Herbicide Handbook [Manual de herbicidas], de la Weed Science Society of America [Sociedad Científica Estadounidense sobre Malezas], octava 10 Edición, 2002, página 462, la ‘sinergia’ [es] una interacción de dos o más factores de modo tal que el efecto combinado sea mayor que el efecto previsto, sobre la base de la respuesta a cada factor aplicado por separado”. La presente invención se basa en el descubrimiento de que el flazasulfuron y el penoxsulam, ya conocidos individualmente por su eficacia herbicida, exhiben un efecto sinérgico al aplicarse combinados.
Los compuestos herbicidas que forman la composición sinérgica de esta invención son conocidos de manera 15 independiente en la técnica por sus efectos sobre el crecimiento de las plantas. Por ejemplo, el documento de patente europea con el número EP 2 052 606 A1 describe composiciones herbicidas que, entre otras, pueden comprender penoxsulam. El documento de patente con el número WO 2004/080171 A2 describe mezclas de herbicidas que, entre otras cosas, pueden comprender flazasulfuron.
La presente invención se refiere a una mezcla sinérgica de herbicidas que comprende una cantidad eficaz como 20 herbicida de: (a) penoxsulam y (b) flazasulfuron. Las composiciones también pueden contener un adyuvante o un portador aceptable para la agricultura.
La presente invención también se refiere un método para controlar el crecimiento de la vegetación indeseable, particularmente en árboles frutales, incluidos el pomo, las drupas, los nogales, los cítricos y los olivos, en viñedos, en el césped, en la caña de azúcar, en parques y callejones, en sierras y pasturas y en el manejo industrial de la 25 vegetación.
El penoxsulam es el nombre común para el (2-(2,2-difluoroetoxi)-N-(5,8-dimetoxi-[1,2,4]triazola[1,5-c]pirimidin-2-il)-6-(trifluorometil)bencensulfonamida. Su actividad herbicida se describe en The Pesticide Manual [Manual de pesticidas], decimocuarta edición, 2006. El flazasulfuron es el nombre común para la 1-(4,6-dimetoxipirimidin-2-il)-3-(3-trifluorometil-2-piridilsulfonil) urea. Su actividad herbicida se describe en The Pesticide Manual, decimocuarta edición, 2006. El flazasulfuron controla las pasturas, las malezas de hojas anchas y las juncias.
El término herbicida se emplea aquí para referirse a un ingrediente activo que mata las plantas o que por algún otro mecanismo controla o modifica su crecimiento de un modo adverso. Una cantidad eficaz como herbicida o de control 35 de la vegetación es una cantidad del principio activo que causa un efecto adversamente modificador y esto incluye los desvíos respecto del desarrollo natural, la matanza, la regulación, la desecación, la retardación y afines. Los términos plantas y vegetación incluyen las semillas germinantes, los almácigos emergentes y la vegetación establecida.
La actividad herbicida está exhibida por los compuestos de la mezcla sinérgica cuando se aplican directamente a la 40 planta o al locus de la planta, en cualquier etapa de crecimiento o antes de la plantación o emergencia. El efecto observado depende de la especie vegetal a controlar, de la etapa de crecimiento de la planta, de los parámetros de dilución de la aplicación y del tamaño de gota de la pulverización, del tamaño de partícula de los componentes sólidos, de las condiciones ambientales en el momento del uso, del compuesto específico empleado, de los adyuvantes específicos y de los portadores empleados, del tipo de suelo y afines, como así también, de la cantidad 45 de químicos aplicados. Estos y otros factores pueden ajustarse como ya se conoce en la técnica, a fin de promover una acción herbicida no selectiva o selectiva. Por lo general, se prefiere aplicar la composición de la presente invención después de la emergencia a la vegetación indeseable relativamente inmadura, a fin de lograr el máximo control de malezas.
En la composición de esta invención, la relación del principio activo (peso/peso) del Flazasulfuron al penoxsulam, a 50 la cual el efecto herbicida es sinérgico, fluctúa en el intervalo comprendido entre 1:2,5 y 15:1, prefiriéndose una proporción de 3,5:1.
La dosis a la cual se aplica la composición sinérgica dependerá del tipo de maleza en particular a controlar, del grado de control requerido y del momento y del método de aplicación. En general, la composición de la invención puede aplicarse a una dosis variable entre 14 gramos de principio activo por hectárea (gpa/ha) y 200 gpa/ha, sobre 55 la base de la cantidad total de principios activos presentes en la composición. Se prefiere una dosis de aplicación
variable entre 20 gpa/ha y 150 gpa/ha. En una realización especialmente preferida de la invención, el flazasulfuron se aplica a una dosis de entre 15 gpa/ha y 100 gpa/ha, y el penoxsulam se aplica a una dosis de entre 5 gpa/ha y 50 gpa/ha.
Los componentes de la mezcla sinérgica de la presente invención pueden aplicarse ya sea por separado o como parte de un sistema herbicida multiparte. 5
La mezcla sinérgica de la presente invención puede aplicarse en forma conjunta con uno o más herbicidas para controlar una variedad más amplia de vegetación indeseable. Cuando se usa conjuntamente con otros herbicidas, la composición puede formularse con el otro o los otros herbicidas, mezclarse en un tanque con el otro o los otros herbicidas o aplicarse secuencialmente con el otro o los otros herbicidas. La mezcla sinérgica de la presente invención puede usarse en cultivos tolerantes al inhibidor acetolactato-sintasa. La composición sinérgica de la presente invención puede emplearse, además, en forma conjunta con 2,4-D, glifosato, glufosinato, dicamba o imidazolinonas en cultivos tolerantes a lo siguiente: 2,4-D, glifosato, glufosinato, dicamba o 5 imidazolinona.
Por lo general, se prefiere emplear la composición sinérgica de la presente invención en combinación con herbicidas que sean selectivos para el cultivo que se esté tratando y que complementen el espectro de malezas controladas por estos compuestos a la dosis de aplicación empleada. Además, en general, se prefiere aplicar la composición sinérgica de la presente invención y otros herbicidas complementarios al mismo tiempo, ya sea como una 10 formulación combinada o como una mezcla en el tanque.
La composición sinérgica de la presente invención puede emplearse, generalmente, en combinación con antídotos de herbicidas conocidos, tales como benoxacor, bentiocarb, brasinolida, cloquintocet (mexilo), ciometrinilo, ciprosulfamato, daimuron, diclormid, diciclonona, dietolato, dimepiperato, disulfoton, fenclorazol-etilo, fenclorim, flurazol, fluxofenim, furilazol, isoxadifen-etilo, mefenpir-dietilo, mefanato, MG 191, MON 4660, anhídrido naftálico 15 (NA, naphthalic anhydride), oxabetrinilo, R29148 y amidas de ácido N-fenil-sulfonilbenzoico, para potenciar su selectividad.
En la práctica, se prefiere usar la composición sinérgica de la presente invención en mezclas que contienen una cantidad eficaz como herbicida de los componentes herbicidas junto con al menos un adyuvante o portador agrícolamente aceptable. Los adyuvantes o portadores adecuados no deben ser fitotóxicos para cultivos valiosos, en 20 particular, a las concentraciones empleadas, al aplicar las composiciones para el control selectivo de malezas en presencia de cultivos y no debe reaccionar químicamente con componentes herbicidas ni con otros ingredientes de la composición. Tales mezclas pueden destinarse a ser aplicadas directamente a las malezas a su locus o pueden ser concentrados o formulaciones que normalmente se diluyen con portadores y adyuvantes adicionales antes de la aplicación. Pueden ser sólidos, tales como, por ejemplo, polvos, gránulos, gránulos dispersables en agua o polvos 25 aptos para humectar o líquidos, tales como, por ejemplo, concentrados emulsionables, soluciones, emulsiones o suspensiones.
Los adyuvantes y portadores agrícolas adecuados que resultan útiles en la preparación de mezclas herbicidas de la invención son ampliamente conocidos para los expertos en la técnica. Los portadores líquidos que se pueden emplear incluyen agua y disolventes orgánicos. Normalmente es conveniente incorporar uno o más tensioactivos en las composiciones de la presente invención. Dichos tensioactivos se emplean ventajosamente tanto en composiciones sólidas como líquidas, en especial, las destinadas a ser diluidas con un portador antes de la aplicación. Los tensioactivos pueden ser de una naturaleza 55 aniónica, catiónica o no iónica y pueden emplearse como agentes emulsionantes, agentes humectantes, agentes de suspensión o con otros fines. Los tensioactivos convencionalmente utilizados en la técnica de formulación y que pueden usarse también en las presentes formulaciones se describen, inter alia, en “McCutcheon’s Detergents and Emulsifiers Annual” MC Publishing Corp., Ridgewood, Nueva Jersey, 1998 y en “Enciclopedia of Surfactants,” Vol. I-
III, Chemical Publishing Co., Nueva York, 1980-81. Los tensioactivos típicos incluyen las sales de alquilo, los sulfatos, tales como lauril-sulfato de dietanolamonio; sales de alquilarilsulfonato, tales como dodecilbencensulfonato de calcio; productos de adición de alquilfenol-óxido de alquileno, tales como nonilfenol-C18 etoxilato; productos de adición de alcohol-óxido de alquileno, tales como etoxilato de alcohol-C16 tridecílico, jabones, tales como estearato de sodio; sales de alquilnaftalen-sulfonato, tales como dibutilnaftalensulfonato de sodio; sales de dialquilésteres de 5 sulfosuccinato, tales como di(2-etilhexil) sulfosuccinato de sodio; ésteres de sorbitol, tales como oleato de sorbitol; aminas cuaternarias, tales como cloruro de lauril-trimetilamonio; polietilenglicol ésteres de ácidos grasos, tales como estearato de polietilenglicol; copolímeros de bloques de óxido de etileno y óxido de propileno; sales de ésteres de mono- y dialquil-fosfato; aceites vegetales, tales como aceite de soja, aceite de colza, aceite de oliva, aceite de ricino, aceite de girasol, aceite de coco, aceite de maíz, aceite de semillas de algodón, aceite de linaza, aceite de 10 palma, aceite de coco, aceite de cártamo, aceite de sésamo, aceite de tung y afines; y ésteres de los aceites vegetales antes citados.
Otros adyuvantes normalmente empleados en las composiciones agrícolas incluyen agentes compatibilizantes, agentes antiespumantes, agentes secuestrantes, agentes neutralizantes y tampones, inhibidores de la corrosión, colorantes, agentes aromatizantes, agentes extensores, auxiliares de la penetración, agentes adherentes, agentes 15 dispersantes, agentes espesantes, depresores del punto de congelamiento, agentes antimicróbicos y afines. Las composiciones también pueden contener otros componentes compatibles, por ejemplo, otros herbicidas, reguladores del crecimiento vegetal, fungicidas, insecticidas, y afines y se pueden formular con fertilizantes líquidos o con portadores de fertilizantes sólidos en partículas, tales como nitrato de amonio, urea y afines.
La concentración de los principios activos en la composición sinérgica de la presente invención, por lo general, varía 20 de 0,001 al 98 % en peso. Las concentraciones de entre 0,01 y 90 % en peso son las que se emplean normalmente. En las composiciones concebidas para ser empleadas como concentrados, los principios activos normalmente están presentes en una concentración variable entre 5 y 98 % en peso, preferiblemente, entre 10 y 90 % en peso. Tales composiciones, por lo general, se diluyen con un portador inerte, como el agua, antes de la aplicación. Las composiciones diluidas normalmente aplicadas a las malezas o al locus de las malezas, por lo general, contienen de 25 0,0001 a 1 % en peso de principio activo y, preferiblemente, contienen de 0,001 a 0,05 % en peso.
Las presentes composiciones pueden aplicarse a las malezas o a su locus, mediante el uso de aplicadores de polvos convencionales por tierra o por aire, pulverizadores y aplicadores de gránulos, mediante su adición al agua del riego y por otros medios convencionales conocidos para los expertos en la técnica.

Ejemplos
Evaluación de la actividad herbicida de las mezclas después de la emergencia en condiciones de campo
Metodología
Estos ensayos fueron llevados a cabo en condiciones de campo, en Francia. Los lugares de ensayo estaban ubicados en viñedos de uva Europea (Vitis vinifera) de uso comercial. Las uvas se cultivaron empleado prácticas de 35 cultivo normales para la fertilización, la siembra y el mantenimiento, a fin de garantizar un buen crecimiento del cultivo y de las malezas. Las pruebas se llevaron a cabo usando una metodología de investigación normal. Los lotes de ensayo medían entre 2 y 4,5 metros (m) de ancho por 5,5 a 10 m de largo. Todos los tratamientos se aplicaron usando un diseño de bloques aleatorio, completo, con 3 o 4 replicaciones por tratamiento. Los lugares de prueba tenían poblaciones naturales de malezas. El espectro de malezas incluía, entre otras: hierba mora (Solanum nigrum, 40 SOLNI), setaria o moha (Setaria sp., SETSS), cenizo común (Chenopodium album, CHEAL), geranio de hoja redonda (Geranium rotundifolium, GERRT), senecio común (Senecio vulgaris, SENVU), malva (Malva L., MALSS) y verdolaga común (Portulaca oleracea, POROL).
Los tratamientos consistían en mezclas hechas en tanque de una dispersión oleosa de penoxsulam y formulaciones comerciales de flazasulfuron (herbicida Katana, gránulos dispersables en agua) aplicados en el agua. Los 45 volúmenes de aplicación variaron entre 150-325 litros por hectárea (l/ha). Toda la aplicación se hizo usando pulverizadores manuales a gas de precisión, que empleaban un brazo 2 o 3 m, con un boquillas planas (80° o 110 °) para aplicar los tratamientos sobre el suelo.
Evaluación
Los lotes tratados y los de control se calificaron bajo la modalidad ciega, a diversos intervalos después de la 50 aplicación. Las calificaciones se basaron en el porcentaje (%) de control de malezas visual, donde 0 corresponde a ausencia de daños y 100 corresponde a una matanza completa.
Se recopilaron datos para todas las pruebas y se los analizó usando varios métodos estadísticos.
Se usó la ecuación de Colby para determinar los efectos herbicidas de las mezclas (Colby, S. R. Calculation of the synergistic and antagonistic response of herbicide combinations. Weeds, 1967 15, 20-22). 55
Se empleó la siguiente ecuación para calcular la actividad prevista de las mezclas que contenía dos principios activos, A y B:

A = eficacia observada del principio activo A, a la misma concentración que se usó en la mezcla;

Claims (12)
- REIVINDICACIONES1. Una mezcla sinérgica de herbicidas, que comprende una cantidad eficaz como herbicida de: (a) penoxsulam y (b) flazasulfuron.
- 2. La mezcla sinérgica de herbicidas de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, en la cual la relación en peso de flazasulfuron a penoxsulam, sobre la base del principio activo (pa), varía entre 1:2,5 y 15:1. 5
- 3. Una composición herbicida que comprende una cantidad eficaz como herbicida de la mezcla sinérgica de herbicidas de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1 y un adyuvante o portador agrícolamente aceptable.
- 4. Un método de controlar la vegetación indeseable, el cual comprende poner en contacto la vegetación o el locus, con una cantidad eficaz como herbicida de la mezcla sinérgica de herbicidas de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1.
- 5. El método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 4, en el cual la vegetación indeseable se controla en árboles frutales, 10 en viñedos, en el césped, en la caña de azúcar, en parques y callejones, en sierras o pasturas y en el manejo industrial de la vegetación.
- 6. El método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 5, en el cual los árboles frutales se seleccionan entre el pomo, las drupas, los nogales, los cítricos y los olivos.
- 7. El método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 4, en el cual mezcla sinérgica de herbicidas de acuerdo con la 15 reivindicación 1 se aplica a una dosis comprendida entre 14 gramos de principio activo por hectárea (gpa/ha) y 200 gpa/ha, sobre la base de la cantidad total de principios activos comprendidos en la mezcla de herbicidas.
- 8. El método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 7, en el cual la mezcla sinérgica de herbicidas de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1 se aplica a una dosis variable entre 20 gramos de principio activo por hectárea (gpa/ha) y 150 gpa/ha, sobre la base de la cantidad total de principio activos comprendidos en la mezcla herbicida. 20
- 9. El método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 8, en el cual el flazasulfuron se aplica a una dosis variable entre 15 gpa/ha y 100 gpa/ha, y el penoxsulam se aplica a una dosis de entre 5 gpa/ha y 50 gpa/ha.
- 10. El método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 4, en el cual la vegetación indeseable es hierba mora, setaria o moha, cenizo común, geranio de hoja redonda, selecio común, malva o verdolaga común.
- 11. El método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 4, en el cual la penoxsulam y el flazasulfuron se aplican por separado 25 o como parte de un sistema herbicida multiparte.
- 12. La mezcla sinérgica de herbicidas de acuerdo con la reivindicación 2, en la cual la relación en peso de flazasulfuron a penoxsulam es de 3,5:1.
