Abstract
Centrifugal separating device for liquids, having in combination a receptacle mounted to rotate about its vertical axis, means for rotating the receptacle, and collecting means for the separated liquid components, said receptacle comprising a receiving chamber on top therein for the reception of the liquid feed, a plurality of spaced passages extending downward and outwardly through the wall of the receptacle from a point adjacent to the intersection of the bottom and the wall of the receiving chamber, a separation chamber located below the receiving chamber and in communication with the receiving chamber by means of said steps, an obstacle disposed at the bottom of the wall of the separating chamber and extending substantially horizontally inwardly and then substantially vertically downwards, an outlet ring for the heavier liquid component, which leads outward from e the surface of the obstacle at points adjacent to the intersection of the wall of the separating chamber and the horizontal surface of the obstacle and a plurality of spaced outlet ducts for the lighter liquid component leading outward from the vertical surface of the obstacle in points adjacent to the bottom of the separating chamber, said outlet ring and exit conduits for the liquid components being in communication with said collecting means.
